  • Can i play soccer with contact lenses?

I like to play soccer very much. But I like to wear contact lenses instead of eyeglasses. Is it OK to wearing contact lenses for playing soccer?

Yes, it is Ok. I heard that there are type of contact lenses called extend wear contact lenses. It can be used when you enjoy some sports activities, of course, including playing soccer. Maybe it will be more convenient than wearing sports sunglasses. But if you use common soft contact lenses, you must be very careful. Or it may cause unexpected damages to your eyes.

Although it is convenient to wear contact lenses to play soccer, instead of wearing flame glasses, it may bring a lot of problems. During the strenuous exercise, you may sweat. Then the sweat may flow into your eyes which infect your contact lenses and lead you to have the pink eyes. In addition, the contact lenses may fall down during the exercise. To sum it up, you'd better not wear contact lenses when playing soccer.

Of course you can. Because of the soft contact lenses, there is no thing for you to worry about. Unlike the eyeglasses, there are many advantages in wearing contacts when playing soccer. The contact lenses will not slide down your nose, or get wet in the rain and impede vision, cause injury to the face after impact from another person or object. In other words, contact lenses can free you from some of the problems associated with eyeglasses. On the other hand, you should pay attention to your sweat which can do harm to the contact lenses.
