  • Can contact lenses really melt in wearers' eyes?

I saw some posts online, which says that the contact lenses melt in wearer's eyes. Is that true? Can contact lenses really melt in wearers' eyes? I am scared.

No, it's impossible. As we all know, the contact lenses are directly wear on the surface of people's eyes. Though it's soft when you get them out of the package, they are tough enough for you to put them on the eyes. They're made of special material that can sterilize by autoclaving up to 120 degree. A layer of tear fluid covers on the contact lenses when you are wearing them, thus the contact lenses are anticorrosive by the liquid around the eyes. Therefore, the liquid or temperature of the eyes couldn't melt the contact lenses.

Yes, it is possible for the contact lenses to melt to the wearers eyes if you stay somewhere with high temperature. For example, if you standing close to normal BBQ coals, you'd better not wear contact lenses. It is likely to melt the contact lenses in your eyes. So, though contact lenses are convenient, you shall be careful to avoid some dangers.
