Kids who wear glasses may be eager to switch to contact lenses, but you have to be ready to handle some extra responsibility.Contacts are small, delicate items that must be properly inserted in the eye and removed as directed. Contact lenses must be cleaned and properly cared for. Many kids are around 12 when they consider switching to contacts. But some kids might be ready earlier while others won't be until later. Talk with your parents and eye doctor if you think you're ready to give them a try.Contacts aren't right for everyone. So if you prefer, you can keep things simple and wear only glasses.

Contact lens wear is not a matter of age. Many infants and toddlers wear them; some teenagers shouldn't. In other words, every case is different. in a recent study that involved fitting nearsighted children of ages 8-11 with one-day disposable contact lenses, 90 percent of the kids had no trouble applying or removing the contacts without assistance from their parents. If children handle duties well, such as keep things clean and follow good hygiene practice. They might be excellent candidates for contacts.
