  • Is it possible to get Reading Glass Rx from Bifocal Rx?

I need a pair of reading glasses, but I only have bifocal prescription. Here it is:OD: -0.5, -0.5, x095 , 0.75 ADD OS: Plano. Can I get the RX for reading glasses?

Yes you can, cuz prescription is an order written by an eyewear prescriber, such as an optometrist or ophthalmologist, that specifies the value of all parameters the prescriber has deemed necessary to construct and/or dispense corrective lenses appropriate for a patient, so the prescription for bifocals are the same with prescription for single vision glasses. You only need to show your prescription paper to your eye doctor and tell him this pair is for reading glasses is OK.

Sure. Your reading glasses should be made with a non-prescription lens in the right eye and +.75 in the left eye. Unless you go to an optician and have them made this kind of reading glasses for you, you cannot get them over-the-counter. You can get them over-the-counter which would be +0.75 sphere in both lenses.

Of course you can.Just show your prescription to the doctor and tell him you need prescription reading glasses. He will know what strength you need. There is a formula to calculate the reading RX based on your prescription.
