I just got a new pair of transition glasses. I am a driver and I want to know whether the transition glasses can reduce the glare or the harmful light when driving.

No. transition glasses are not suitable for driving. Windshields of the car can block most the UV rays, so little UV rays can get into the car. In the meanwhile, transition lenses can change the color only when they hit the UV rays, so transition glasses cannot turn as dark as sunglasses in the car. Hence they cannot block the harmful light effectively.

I won't suggest you use transition glasses for driving because they won't protect your eyes when driving. However, there are special designed glasses for driving which combine the polarized technology with photochromic technology. You can ask your eye care professional if you need these glasses for driving.
