Are dark circles under eyes a sign of illness ?

Why do I usually get dark circles? Does that mean I am suffering from some kind of illness? What should I do?

It depends. The dark circles make you look old and unhealthy. Usually, dark circles are considered a sign of tiredness, lack of sleep, stress, effect of sunlight. However, some serious illness can also cause dark eye circles. For example, people suffered from heart, kidney and thyroid gland disease can make them appear dark circles under eyes.
