Can double vision be temporary?

I have got double vision very often these days, what does that mean? Can this symptom just be temporary?

Double vision can develop due to a variety of ophthalmologic, infectious, autoimmune, neurological or neoplastic factors, which range from minor to life threatening. A major cause of double vision is misalignment of the eyes, which makes the eyes unable to focus equally on an object. Other causes include damage to the third, fourth, or sixth cranial nerves which control eye movements, cancer, trauma, migraine, multiple sclerosis, botulism, brain tumor, bascess, strabismus, lyme disease, anisometropia and drunkenness. Double vision can be temporary when it is caused by alcohol intoxication or head injuries, such as concussion. I suggest you contact your eye doctor as early as possible to have a thorough examination and receive relevant treatment of the underlying cause. In your daily eye, you should do more eye exercises. Or wear an eye patch on alternative eyes to relieve such symptom. In case of serious situation, surgery is necessary. Wish you better soon.

It is hard to say. There are people who have temporary double vision. If so, it can recover itself. But there are also double vision that cause by some eye problems such as astigmatism or cataracts etc. If so, you may have to turn help from prisms glasses, botulinum toxin injections or surgery on your eye muscles etc. So, you'd better get your eye check first. And usually, people may get temporary double vision from stroke, corneal irregularities, drinking alcohol, head injury, brain tumor or brain aneurysm etc. If you can judge that your double vision are not caused by those factors, i suggest you get an eye check first.
