Color blindness usually refers to being unable to distinguish some colors or even all of the colors. Generally speaking, color blindness in most cases is caused by hereditary factors, which is called daltonism, and it can not be treated. The colors of eyes can hardly lead to color blindness. The colors of eyes depend on the colors of iris, which are mainly affected by the amount of melanin in the iris pigment epithelial cells, the amount of melanin in the iris stroma and the cell density of iris stroma. However, it can be temporarily corrected by wearing red or green contact lenses accordingly. In some cases, color blindness is acquired because the patient get ocular fundus disease, glaucoma, and so on, but the dyschromatopsia caused by these eye disease is usually not permanent and will disappear with the recovery of the eye conditions.
