I often stay up watching TV and playing the computer. But at the middle night, I suddenly see double things. It is double of the edge of something, and only happens when I fully open my eyes. Could this be caused by my long exposure to the tv?
It could be the eye strain caused by overusing your eyes. But you could also have a weak eye muscle. As you age it could get worse. You should avoid staying up late and limit the time of watching TV. It is better to have an eye exam and make sure there is nothing wrong with your eyes.
