The vision problems should be payed much attention to today and into the future. By decreasing the progression of growth in the eye, it can help reduce the risk for specific eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and retinal detachments. Populations with longer than average eyes or high degrees of nearsightedness have a statistically higher likelihood of developing these irreversible eye conditions.

Decreasing myopia is so important because in a nearsighted eye, the cornea is too steeply curved for the length of the eye, causing light rays to focus in front of the retina. Distant objects appear blurred or fuzzy because the light rays are not in focus by the time they reach the retina. If you are nearsighted, you typically will have difficulty reading road signs and seeing distant objects clearly. Other signs and symptoms of myopia include squinting, eye strain and headaches. Feeling fatigued when driving or playing sports.
