The bifocal contact lenses were developed for presbyopia that the users typically above 40, and can't see an object up close or far away. Hence, the bifocal contact lenses combine two prescriptions (myopia and presbyopia) into one lens. However, it is not suitable for everybody to wear, especially people who have large pupils, a strong contact lens prescription or astigmatism may not be able to wear them. As mentioned above, the bifocal contact lenses have two prescriptions without consideration of depth perception. So it is not useful when you are driving or doing sports. In addition, the cost is higher than the normal bifocal contact glasses. And it takes time to adjust the bifocal contact lenses to make they work.
