How can I know if my contact lenses are inside out?

I am a new wearer to contacts, and when I am putting them on, how can I know if they are inside out?

Just place the lens on the top of one finger and look at it carefully. If it forms a shape of bowl with its top edges flared out, then it's inside. If it forms like a "bowl" with no edges flared out, then the lens is in the correct position.
