I use disposable contact lenses. I've been wearing (these) contacts now for almost 4 months. I wear them almost everyday of the week, for about 12-14 hours a day. How long should I use each contact before disposing it? And is it a problem if I use a contact lens and within less than a week there is already a small tear at its edge? This has been happening to me several times within the past 3 weeks or so, so I've been throwing out a few lately.

I don't know what kinds of contacts you are using ,daily ,weekly ,or monthly ? If they are monthly , which means that they should only be worn for one month ,It's dangerous to wear them for longer than their scheduled date and that's the reason you're getting tearing at the edges! Also you should not wear them for more than 8 hours a day ! Make sure you ask your optician for how long your lenses can be worn, and follow the prescribed time . Don't risk the health of your eyes!!
