It is true that eye twitching is a sign of stress. When we are stressed, some parts of our bodies including eyes will react to this stress accordingly. Eye twitching is related to eye strain that is caused by stress. If you spend a lot of time working in front of a computer and overuse your eyes, you will get eye strain which will affect your vision and make your eyes twitching. There are many factors that can cause eye twitching, such as too much intake of caffeine and alcohol, imbalanced diet, allergy and eye dryness. Usually, you can have a sound sleep and then the twitching will disappear overnight. However, in some cases, the twitching lasts for a long time. So you should consult your doctor to find out the exact cause and choose a proper treatment. Warm compresses and massaging the eyelids can be applied to soothe the twitching.
